Entrepreneurial Migration to Mexico

Approximately 26,000 gray and humpback whales arrive in the waters off the Pacific coast of Mexico each year. These whales are drawn to the regionยดs warm temperatures, which create favorable conditions for them to mate and reproduce. Starting in the Arctic and Antarctic, their migration to Mexico covers over 10,000 miles round-trip and makes them the longest-migrating mammals in the world.

Like these whales, more and more entrepreneurs from all over the world are choosing Mexico as their destination. This is because the conditions are ripe for them to start and expand their companies.

Foreign entrepreneurs have had a significant impact on the Mexican entrepreneurial ecosystem, creating 9,800 jobs and raising $ 1.72 billion of capital in Mexico City.

Of a universe of 204 technology companies that have managed to raise capital, 31% of the founders identified themselves as foreigners. In other words, cultural diversity not only comprises a considerable part of the ecosystem, but also fosters economic growth and social change. This study delves into the impact of these entrepreneurs and details the reasons why Mexico has become an entrepreneurship hub.
