Sofia holds a Master Degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago from the Harris School of Public Policy. She also holds a Master in Human Rights from Universidad Iberoamericana and a Bachelor of International Relations from Tec de Monterrey. Through these disciplines, she has strived to understand international best practices that can be adapted in Mexico and Latin America, especially on issues related to economic and social development.
She worked in the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Relations and the Mexican Ministry of Social Development for more than 3 years. She also worked at the United Nations Development Program on a youth empowerment through entrepreneurship program. Sofia has collaborated in municipal governments, civil society organizations and international organizations focused mainly in human rights and social protection.
She is part of the team leading the North Capital Forum, an initiative by the USMF, where we seek to promote North America as an economic, social and political powerhouse.
